That's Gay

I've heard the word gay used millions of times and each time it wasn't used for what it actually means.  I'll admit I'm guilty of saying it and my brother and I actually answer to that instead of our names.  (Horrible I know) But we never mean anything by it.  I mean I have a gay uncle, cousin, my best friend is gay so I've never meant anything negative by it.  I'm trying to get out of the habit of using it so much.  Some people take offense to it and some don't care but I don't think it's very tasteful to use.  I think at 24 it shouldn't be used so loosely in my vocab.  I think it has just become part of language.  I'm taking a linguistics class and we were talking about how words don't mean the same things anymore.  Gay for instance used to mean happy; now it's used as a sexual orientation and when some thinks something is dumb.  The last part sounds bad but most people I know that are gay don't take any offense to it.  Well that's my 2 cents.....spend it wisely!!
